Day 06 – A book that makes you sad
Many, since I don't really read a lot of anything considered 'happy'. Of Mice and Men is an incredibly depressing boo: the ending kills me every single time I read it (which isn't a lot-yet-but still). Uhm. Ironically, quite a few Stephen King novels fit this category: Cujo is sad in so many ways (especially the film version but this is about books isn't it?) because I feel for the dog and the mom and the kid all at the same time. I guess the husband can just fuck off though. The Green Mile and Blaze were also sad, and the scene in The Regulators when the one twin is killed is really fucking depressing because one twin losing the other just seems so wrong (coughfredandgeorgecough). Er, and when I was a kid I cried every time I read Peter Pan (and Wendy) because of the scene when the Lost Boys shoot down Wendy and she 'dies'. Fucking Tinkerbell was such a jealous bitch omg. I don't care if she was so tiny that only one emotion could be dominant at any given time because that doesn't give you the right to kill somebody. Kudos to Disney for completely omitting that, though; I guess children are just too precious to be shown death :P
